Apple has rolled up its sleeves for an affordable iPhone model. Working with Chinese BOE for OLED screen production, the company has now agreed with LG Display. Accordingly, the screen of iPhone SE 4 will be produced by both BOE and LG Display. Here are the details.
iPhone SE 4 screen entrusted to BOE and LG
A new report out of Korea has revealed the key specs of Apple’s iPhone SE 4, which will be released in 2025. The next-generation budget iPhone model will feature OLED displays from two suppliers, BOE and LG Display.
According to the details in the report, BOE will remain the primary display supplier for the iPhone SE 4. However, LG Display will join BOE as a secondary supplier and provide OLED panels for the affordable iPhone.
This is the first time LG Display will supply displays for the iPhone SE series. Previous SE models have only used LCD panels from other manufacturers besides BOE, such as Japan Display.
The iPhone SE 4 is expected to feature a notched display based on the design of the iPhone 14. It seems possible that it will receive various upgrades on the RAM and processor side and will feature a redesigned rear panel and dual cameras.
It is also rumored to be released at 499 dollars with a slight price increase. However, it was stated that the base storage of 128 GB will double and increase to 256GB.
